After seeing the extensive yellow sand in the Sahara Desert, Has it ever occurred to you that a desert can be white? Upon arriving at White Desert National Park, you will realise that white desert doesn't only live in your mind. You have to take a ride for a few hours from Bahariya Oasis to get to this magical white desert. Why is it white? The land used to be a sea. The protein in marine life remains turned into chalk stones. Long enough, they become white sand from weathering. A white desert was then formed eventually. Besides white sand, the white desert is home to a series of strange rocks with the colours ranging from snow-white to cream white. Some of them look like the "Queen's Head" in Yehliu Geopark in Taiwan, whilst some resemble sphinges. You can go sand sledding on the white dunes, and record this splendid work of nature with your camera.
