Meanwhile, the renowned Hong Kong Cantonese opera actor Law Ka-ying plays Xu Xian, under direction of the national first-class director, Yin Dawei. This film received multiple nominations at the 2nd Hong Kong Bauhinia International Film Festival, including Best Film and Best Art Direction. Li Shuqin won Best Actress Award while Law Ka-ying received Lifetime Achievement Award.
