Since 1965, Kok-Tobe Park has been a beloved recreation spot for residents of Almaty, a legacy from Soviet times. Perched atop the eponymous mountain at an elevation of 1100 meters (3600 ft), the park offers breathtaking views of the city and the Ile Alatau Mountains.

Dazu Rock Carvings is the generic name for the Buddhist cliff inscriptions (grottoes) located in Dazu County, Chongqing. As one of the eight greatest grottoes in the world, Dazu rock Carvings are recognized as a World Culture Heritage Site. There are over 50,000 religious stone statues scattered among its 75 groups of carvings， with a total of 100,000 figurines and over 100,000 inscribed characters of text. The carvings at Baoding Mountain and Beishan Mountain, mainly composed of Buddhist statues, are outstanding and regarded as perfect examples of carving craftsmanship from late Imperial China.

With its services commenced since 1888, the Peak Tram has witnessed the brilliant changes of Hong Kong for more than 100 years, and carried the collective memory of generations of Hong Kong citizens.

The Tiantang Top ("Tiantang" as paradise in Chinese), the major peak of the mountain, is taller than Hong Kong’s Tai Mo Shan. It stands over 1000m above sea level. Although it is tiring to climb Nankun Mountain, all efforts are just worth it when you see the wonderland-like scenery.
