【Highlight Programmes】Chinese Opera Festival 2024: The Northern Kunqu Opera Theatre Group Tickets Booking (Cut-off)

Programme Introduction

Kunqu Opera, with a history spanning over 600 years, rightfully earns its reputation as 'The Mother of Chinese Opera'.  It was one of the most influential Chinese operas during the Ming and Qing dynasties. In 2001, Kunqu Opera was proclaimed by UNESCO as one of the first Masterpieces of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity, illustrating its rich cultural value.

The Northern Kunqu Opera Troupe has inherited the majestic spirit of Northern Kunqu and adopted the delicacy of the Southern Kunqu style, forging a unique artistic style that seamlessly fuses courage and tenderness, as well as civil and martial elements. The troupe will perform the classic play The Palace of Eternal Life as well as two selections of traditional opera excerpts, fully demonstrating the artistic essence of Northern Kunqu in the roles of sheng (male), dan (female), jing (painted-face), mo (supporting) and chou (comic).

* Only $500 and $400  tickets are available for pre-sale. The pre-sale tickets are subject to availability on a first-come-first-served basis.

Booking and Ticketing Eligibility:
1. The applicant must operate inbound travel business;
2. Customers of group tickets must be inbound travellers;
3. Group Tickets Booking: Each licensed travel agent is required to purchase a minimum of 6 tickets or more per session;
4. Application must be accompanied by an itinerary covering the above programme.

Group Ticket Offer:
1. 10% off upon purchase of 6 to 9 original-priced group tickets of the programme.
2. 15% off upon purchase of 10 to 19 original-priced group tickets of the programme.
3. 20% off upon purchase of 20 to 29 original-priced group tickets of the programme.
4. 25% off upon purchase of 30 to 40 original-priced group tickets of the programme.

Programme Duration: Each programme is approximately 3 hours long, including a 15-minute interval.
