The Best Mountain in Lingnan - Mount Luofu

The most renowned scenic spot in Huizhou has to be Mount Luofu, one of the ten Sacred Mountains of Taoism. The temples on Mount Luofu have a thousand years of history. The widely known Chongxu Ancient Temple was once the station of the East River Column. Given its wonderful landscape, Mount Luofu is hailed as “the Best Mountain in Lingnan”, where celebrities like Su Dongpo and Dr Sun Yat-sen had once spent their vacation in and written poems for.

The peaks, caves, waterfalls and lakes are all spectacular attractions on Mount Luofu. The 18 big grotto-heavens and 72 small grotto-heavens have been visited by many poets and writers. You cannot miss the wonderful scene at Feiyun Peak, Mount Luofu’s major peak, Zhuming Cave, the largest cave, and Su Dongpo’s favourite Zhuoxi Spring.
