There are four places of pilgrimage for Buddhists. The first one is Lumbini, where the Buddha was born. The second is Bodh Gaya where the Buddha attained enlightenment. The third is Sarnath where Buddha’s first teaching was given. The last is Kushinagar where the Buddha attained Parinirvana.

Besides Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square ares also worth visiting.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is the heart of Kathmandu. Its importance is comparable to that of Tiananmen Square to Beijing and Red Square to Moscow. It features a variety of temples built by Newar artists. It is also surrounded by magnificent palaces and museums. 

Although it is only a small town, Namche Bazaar has become well-known given that it is a must-take path when climbing Mount Everest.Surrounded by several mountains, Namche Bazaar is the nearest town to the Mount Everest. With more and more mountaineers visiting every year, different hostels, restaurants and cafes, as well as government facilities have been opened in Namche Bazaar.
