Mzaar Ski Resort – Faraya
When talking about tourism in Lebanon, you would not miss the unique experience of skilling down a mountain in the morning and swimming in the sea in the afternoon. Such an experience is available given many high mountains in Lebanon and its close distance with the Mediterranean Sea. While the ski season of Lebanon starts in December and ends in April, March and April are the better option for those who want to enjoy the “unique experience” from the mountain to the sea.
Only an hour ride apart from Beirut, Mzaar Ski Resort in Faraya is the first priority of many tourists. Mzaar ski Resort has 42 slopes and ski tracks of about 80km. It is said that it takes at least two days for a veteran skier to ski down the whole track. Beginners, however, don’t need to worry because there are also low and gentle slopes.
Apart from skiing, remember to climb to the Mzaar’s highest peak at 2,465m. There you can enjoy a breath-taking view over the coloured Bekaa Valley, Laqlouq Peak and Cedar Forest. Coastal towns and even Beirut might also be seen on a clear day.
