Discover the Must Visit Attractions in Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina on Your Balkan Adventure!

Looking for a unique European experience after visiting most of the popular European countries? Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Balkan Peninsula along the Belt and Road are definitely worth exploring! These three countries are in close proximity to each other and have a rich history. Join 【GreaterGo】 to stroll through ancient cities and experience a unique aspect of Europe.

Three Balkan Countries 1. Serbia

Serbia is known as the "Backyard of Europe," and many Europeans go there for vacations. Besides the beautiful Djerdap National Park, there is the world-famous Studenica Monastery.

Built in the late 12th century, Studenica Monastery is the largest traditional monastery in Serbia and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It houses a priceless collection of Byzantine paintings from the 13th and 14th centuries. The two principal monuments, the Church of the Virgin and the Church of the King, are made of gleaming white marble. Covered in a strong religious atmosphere, the monastery stands quietly, keeping the mark of history alive.

Three Balkan Countries 2. Montenegro

Montenegro's most famous tourist attraction is Kotor, a medieval city located in the bay. Strolling along the streets offers a spectacular view of the city walls when lit up at night. Thanks to the city walls built in the Middle Ages, Kotor managed to remain intact through the tumultuous times from the ancient Roman period to World War II. The town has squares, museums, and churches, making it a unique small town attractive to many visitors.

Three Balkan Countries 3. Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina is home to three major ethnic groups - Bosnian Muslims, Serbs, and Croats - and has an Islamic element rarely seen in Europe. The most famous tourist attraction in the country, Mostar city, has 24 mosques built between the 17th and early 18th centuries. The old town was restored after wars, making it a unique scenery with historical traces. The Old Bridge Area of the Old City of Mostar was restored in 2004 and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List the following year, making it a magnificent landmark of Mostar.
